Schuyler County Registry Enforcement
The Schuyler County Sheriff's Office is at 106 Tenth Street in Watkins Glen, with 24-hour dispatch at (607) 535-8222. Watkins Glen has its own police department at (607) 535-7883, with contact details on the official village police page. Published Montour Falls and Odessa pages do not list village police departments, making the Sheriff the practical local contact there. Call first because no separate county registry-counter hours or appointment rule is posted.
Level 3 registrants and people designated sexual predators personally verify their address with local law enforcement every 90 calendar days. Everyone subject to SORA returns an annual verification form to DCJS within ten days of receipt and reports a new address within ten days of the change. Level 1 and Level 2 photographs are updated every three years; Level 3 photographs are updated annually.
If a listed address looks wrong, report it to Watkins Glen Police for a village address or the Sheriff elsewhere. The county Public Safety Dispatch page identifies the shared emergency communications channel. Use 911 only for an immediate event. Do not confront or try to investigate the person. The official guidance is to route suspected noncompliance to the agency with jurisdiction.
Local law enforcement must also maintain the Level 3 subdirectory for public inspection on request. DCJS generally sends address-change information to the local agency within two business days after receiving it. Community notification may reach entities serving vulnerable populations. Level 2 notice can use an approximate ZIP-based address, while Level 3 notice can include the exact address permitted by law.
Registration Levels and Duties in New York
A judge assigns New York risk level after a hearing. Level 1 means low risk, Level 2 moderate risk, and Level 3 high risk with a threat to public safety. A separate judicial designation may identify a sexual predator, sexually violent offender, or predicate sex offender. New York levels are not federal SORNA tiers.

A Level 2 person without a designation may petition after 30 years. Relief is not automatic. The $10 fee described in SORA concerns certain registrant changes, not a public search. Both the website and information-line check are free.
Schuyler County Registry Move Alerts
NY-ALERT offers free email, text, or fax notice when a Level 2 or Level 3 person in the public directory moves into or out of a selected place. It is a relocation service, not a daily crime feed, and it does not add Level 1 records to public view.

The registry supports informed personal, family, and community safety. Confirm identity through several profile fields. Report a suspected address error to law enforcement, and let the responsible agency assess compliance. A listing is not permission to threaten, follow, expose, or confront anyone.

Misuse is unlawful: DCJS forbids harassment or criminal use, and Correction Law §168-p permits preventive relief and a $500 to $1,000 fine for a pattern of misuse.
New York does not publish one statewide rule that places every registrant the same number of feet from each school or park. Some people on probation, parole, or conditional release have specific restrictions. Read the actual supervision conditions instead of applying a made-up Schuyler County distance rule to everyone.
