Why We Built This Site
New York records access depends on the record and its custodian. The Schuyler County Sheriff creates reports and booking files, while the clerk of the court that heard a case keeps its docket and disposition. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services maintains the official fingerprint-based state criminal history, and separate state systems cover corrections and sex-offender registration. Bringing the verified contacts, fees, search routes, and request steps together makes those boundaries easier to follow.

Only the office that maintains a record, such as the sheriff, court clerk, or New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, can issue its official copy.
